The Blessing is YOU- Living in the Flow of Life

There is a strange thing that happens when your life is intentional and purposeful.  Everything that appears to other people to be difficult is really easy and effortless to you.  You can go and go without becoming weary.  Things just fall into place.  You are in the “flow”.

It’s from this flow of Life that blessings come forth.

But where do blessings come from anyway?

Do they poor down from the heavens?

Does some important person (like a King) bestow them on you?

But I believe that the blessing IS YOU.

Think about it.  God works in His own ways using whatever and whomever is available.

So if we choose to make ourselves available to God’s guidance then we ARE the blessing.

In other words, God is able to bless those around us THROUGH us.

In this way, the blessing literally becomes US.  And as we are blessing others with our gifts, our time and our talents, God is pouring more and more blessing into us.

This is the flow of Life.

Think of how knowing this truth could really change your life and your situation.

Here is a challenge for you.

The next time you walk into a job interview know that the blessing is you and you are there, NOT to beg for employment, BUT to offer this potential employer much more than he could ever need from you.

The next time you are in the middle of a hostile situation with your significant other, know that you are the blessing here and you do NOT have to feed the fire of the argument, but instead you can choose to be the agent of peace and resolution.

The next time your child is having a bad day, know that you get to bless him with a hug, or a kind word so that he is reassured.

This is LIFE in action!

Not us sitting around waiting or someone or something to deliver our blessings to us.

But US rising up to be the blessing in other’s lives and consequently blessing our own lives.

One of my favorite spiritual teachers Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith puts it this way:

“You can only KEEP what you GIVE away.”

So give away the BEST!  The best of love, the very best of everything!

If the blessing is you, how do you live it in your life?
