I can’t tell you how many people in my many years of teaching yoga have told me:

1. I can’t do yoga because I’m not flexible enough. Or

2. I can’t do yoga because I’m not strong enough.  Or the big one (no pun intended)

3. I can’t do yoga because I’m not skinny enough.

Yes I get it! Yoga has been commercialized to HELL in this country.

Yes I get it! So many yogis we see on Instagram and yoga videos are trim and tone wearing super cute yoga pants.

Yes I get it! Most of what we see about yoga in the media seems so “unattainable” to most people.

But for the ones of us that use yoga as MORE than just this exercise we do at the gym, we know the truth.

Book 1, Verse 14 of the Yoga Sutras tells us this:

“Practice becomes firmly grounded when well attended to for a long time, without break and in all earnestness.”

What does that mean for YOU mama?

It means that the next time you see me (or anyone else) in fancy yoga pants standing on her hands looking FABULOUS, know this…….she has practiced patiently, devotedly and with faith to get to that point.

When you see a beautiful mom in the store kindly and patiently dealing with her toddler throwing a tantrum, know this…..she has practiced kindness patiently, devotedly and with faith to get that point.

The bottom line is, EVERYONE no matter how inflexible, “weak” or big can practice yoga. Because yoga is a PRACTICE not an outcome.

Go forth and prosper this week mamas!

Could you use more peace, energy and focus in your mom life?
