I Got a Big EgoWhen we say someone has a big ego we are usually trying to insult them. But I am realizing that sometimes having a big ego is a good thing.

I believe that we are all Spirit wrapped in flesh, so it’s good to live Life from a more spiritual perspective – in general.

BUT our egos are the part of us that serve the “flesh” in many positive ways.

It looks out for us. It tries to protect us. And sometimes we need that protection.

We’re women (and moms) and I know society says we should be more passive and nurturing BUT sometimes we need to verbally defend ourselves from someone who is degrading us. Sometimes we need to assert ourselves so that our body (emotional, psychological or physical) is protected.

Sometimes we let the ones we love most “get away” with the most hurtful things. We don’t want our loved ones to have hurt feelings or we don’t want to start a fight so we give the benefit of the doubt.

We do all of this to “keep the peace” between us, meanwhile there is NO internal peace in our hearts as we simmer and stew over what that person has done.

The truth is, people will and can only do to us what we allow. The choice is always ours to protect ourselves with love and grace for all involved.

There is nothing “anti-womenly” about NOT allowing people to mistreat us.

Actually that is one of the most feminine  things we can do for ourselves.

Realize who and what you are.

You are worth protecting.

You are worth defending.

You are worthy of being respected and treated well.

Be Blessed Mamas
